
Our MISSION
Dubuque Area Library Information Consortium (DALINC) is a non-profit organization that exists to encourage, coordinate, and develop programs and services for librarians and other professionals in order for libraries to meet the educational, informational, and recreational needs of their communities.

Dubuque County Reads 2026
Program Overview
Dubuque County Reads is a community-wide reading program that brings people together through books, conversation, and cultural events. This year’s theme explores ecological sustainability, Indigenous identity, and cultural heritage with two featured titles:

Adult Read: The Seed Keeper by Diane Wilson

Youth Companion Read: Berry Song by Michaela Goade
How You Can Participate

Pick Up a Free Book
Starting in January, visit any of the 9 participating libraries to receive a free copy of The Seed Keeper (while supplies last). Attend a a story time event James Kennedy, Carnegie-Stout, Dubuque County, or Cascade Public libraries to receive a free copy of Berry Song (while supplies last).-
Books are also available for checkout at local libraries and for purchase at River Lights Bookstore.

Join a Book Discussion
Throughout March, libraries across Dubuque County will host book discussions. These are great opportunities to share ideas and connect with others.
Why Participate?
By joining Dubuque County Reads, you’ll help foster literacy, cultural understanding, and community dialogue. Whether you attend one event or all of them, your involvement makes a difference.
Funding for this year’s Dubuque County Reads program is generously provided by the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque (CFGD); Sustainable Dubuque; the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (BVM); the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary (PBVMs); the Sisters of St. Francis; and the Friends of the Carnegie‑Stout Public Library.

14 days to the eventTue, Mar 24DubuqueJoin acclaimed author Diane Wilson for an inspiring keynote on her novel The Seed Keeper. Wilson will share stories of Indigenous resilience, ecological stewardship, and the sacredness of seeds. A Q&A and book signing will follow. This event is free and open to the public.
