C) Information From Partners (Occasionally)

  • With your consent or when necessary to manage events, we may receive limited registration/attendance info from participating libraries or venues.

How We Use Your Information
  • Program administration: manage event RSVPs, waitlists, communications, and logistics.

  • Community outreach: send confirmations, reminders, updates, and post-event resources.

  • Improvement & reporting: aggregate attendance counts, survey results, and anonymized metrics for grants and program evaluation.

  • Safety & compliance: uphold community standards, prevent misuse, and comply with legal obligations.

  • Marketing (limited): share upcoming DCR events or partner offerings closely related to DCR. You can opt-out at any time (Section 9).

  • Contract/legitimate interests: to fulfill your RSVP and run community programs efficiently.

  • Program partners: participating libraries/venues to coordinate your registration and event access.

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purpose collected (e.g., through the event cycle and reasonable reporting period) or as required by law or grants. We periodically review and delete data that is no longer needed.

Children’s Privacy

Our site and events are family-friendly, but we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us to remove it.

International Visitors

DCR is based in Iowa, USA. If you visit from outside the U.S., your information will be processed in the U.S., where data protection laws may differ from your jurisdiction.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect program, legal, or technical changes. The “Last Updated” date will indicate when changes were made. Material changes will be communicated via website notice.
