
Our MISSION
Dubuque Area Library Information Consortium (DALINC) is a non-profit organization that exists to encourage, coordinate, and develop programs and services for librarians and other professionals in order for libraries to meet the educational, informational, and recreational needs of their communities.


Dubuque County Reads 2026
Program Overview
Dubuque County Reads is a community-wide reading program that brings people together through books, conversation, and cultural events. This year’s theme explores ecological sustainability, Indigenous identity, and cultural heritage with two featured titles:

How You Can Participate

Pick Up a Free Book
Starting in January, visit any of the 9 participating libraries to receive a free copy of The Seed Keeper (while supplies last). Attend a a story time event James Kennedy, Carnegie-Stout, Dubuque County, or Cascade Public libraries to receive a free copy of Berry Song (while supplies last). Books will also be available for checkout and for purchase at River Lights Bookstore. -
Join a Book Discussion
Throughout March, libraries across Dubuque County will host book discussions. These are great opportunities to share ideas and connect with others. -
Bring the Kids to a Storytime at your local public library
Enjoy family-friendly storytimes and activities inspired by Berry Song at participating public libraries. -

Kickoff & Book Distribution: Free books at participating libraries

Indigenous Speakers Panel: February 28 at the Dubuque Museum of Art

Expo-Style Event: Hands-on activities and exhibits at the National Mississippi River Museum on March 4.

Wilson will share stories of Indigenous resilience, ecological stewardship, and the sacredness of seeds. A Q&A and book signing will follow. This event is free and open to the public.
